Marina Gabor
born in Murska Sobota in 1996, is completing her master’s degree in Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana, having obtained her bachelor’s degree from the same academy in 2019. During her studies, she became interested in scientific illustration, hence her graduation project was a poster on the life in and around the river Mura. Faculty environment was also where Marina first came into contact with the process of animation. The Island is her debut student animation. Her first solo exhibition was in the Ljutomer Intergenerational Centre. She has also participated in group exhibitions in the Ljubljana Botanical Garden, NUK, Volčji Potok Arboretum, France Prešeren Slavic Cultures Centre, and Srečko Vilhar Library in Koper.

Barbara Miše
born in Split in 1994, graduated in Animated Film and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and is currently studying for a master’s degree in Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Ljubljana. Barbara works across animation, visual communication, and sound design. She has participated in several group exhibitions and film screenings in Zagreb, Rijeka, Ljubljana, and London.

Josef Žárský
was born in 1994. At the secondary school in Prague he enjoyed working with materials like wood or cloth in the toy design department. Since 2016, he has been studying animation at UMPRUM Prague. His films Relation Splash and Tremble took part at animation festivals like Kraťasy Pelhřimov, Animanie Plzeň, Animateka Ljubljana, Filmfest Dresden, ITFS in Stuttgart, Monstra Lisboa and at Weihnachtsfilmfestival in Berlin. He is now working on finishing his film The Last Jam, another symbolic puppet animation. Since September 2020, he has been teaching animation at the High School of Graphic Art in Jihlava.

Ana Prebil
is a student at the University of Nova Gorica School of Arts, where she is currently working on her animated diploma film. She works mostly in stop-motion technique, but otherwise spends her time painting, cutting collages, admiring art in everyday life as much as in museums, while listening to fun audiobooks and funky podcasts or music.

Miha Reja
is a student of the School of Arts in Nova Gorica, where he is currently working on his thesis film, a coming-of-age story. During his studies, he discovered his love for animation, because he sees it as an art that comprises all arts. Therefore, his passion exceeds drawing and includes music-making and story-writing as they are tightly connected, forming a whole.

Johana Mlíchová
is an animation student from Slovakia, currently studying at the University of Nova Gorica. Previously, she studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where she also participated in an Erasmus programme at the Falmouth University. After school she worked at the Alkay studio in Prague. In her free time she also dabs into photography. Her art is full of soft colors and dreamy atmospheres.
