George and Mara are born each year on Christmas morning, and the same day carollers take George into the world of the dead, where he grows up. As winter ends, George returns, carrying spring. This is when he meets Mara, their wedding in late June making all nature fertile. But before long, George is unfaithful to Mara, and Mara transforms into Morana, the goddess of death, bringing about autumn and winter, and killing George in revenge. Come Christmas day, they are both reborn, and the cycle is repeated.
Zakaj je Istra tužna / Why is Istria so Gloomy?
“The day God created Istria and the Istrian man, he must have been in a terrible mood,” says Nelda Štok Vojska in her story “Why is Istria so Gloomy”. The tale of the misfortunate Istrian was used as the basis for the script, while animation brings to life the medieval frescos from the Holy Trinity Church in Hrastovlje.

A noir animated short-film that investigates the role of the individual in society. In an anonymous police station, F.K. asks the Law for help, attempting to report the abuses he has been through: his birth, his formation, his forced work. He will end up stuck in an endless nightmare.

Inspired by real events and people from director's environment, the animation follows several characters and their small, but also the most important problems.
