Slovenia's take on animation
Like every year, Slovenes too play an important part in the festival! Films of two Slovene authors will take part in the main competition programme. Today you will have a chance to watch Boles, a film by Špela Čadež and later on in the festival Luka Bajt will be aiming for an award with his Slovene-British coproduction Kurent.
Elephant in competition will host an even greater number of Slovene films. Child jury will evaluate the movies Prince Ki-Ki-Do and One Hundred Unhappy Mushrooms by Grega Mastnak and Eko Binz by Iztok H. Šuc. As part of the competition programme the young viewers will be able to meet our famous book hero Muri the Cat, brought to animated life by Boris Dolenc.
The Panorama will feature 4 short films of 4 Slovene authors: Matic Perčič and his film Bzzz, Nejc Zavec with The Birth of Piglet, Brane Solce with MASKquito and Urban Rodes will present Ex Nihilo. 10 Years of Animateka will feature another film by Špela Čadež, Lovesick.
In addition to short films Animateka will air the slovene legendary feature film Socialization of the Bull by Zvonko Čoh and Milan Erič. For those who have not yet seen it, tonight is your lucky night!
And the list of Slovene success stories continues. Among them is Rok Predin, whose interview will be held on Friday 6th of December at 1300. Moreover Saturday is Slovene day! At 13:30 you can attend Working brunch: open platform, where we will talk about Slovene animators and animation in Slovenia. Last but not least we will introduce you to Koni Steinbacher on Wednesday, 3.12. at 18:00.
