Here it is: the Summer Animateka!

Why should the joys of animated film be limited to December, when we could also encounter them at wonderful venues in Ljubljana, in the middle of summer, under the open sky? This was the rationale behind the idea for a summer version of Animateka, which we are making true this summer: the first edition of Summer Animateka is here!

We have divided the programme into three parts: to animate the city, screenings will be complemented with animation workshops as well as video mapping.

During screenings, comic books published by Društvo za oživljanje zgodbe 2 koluta will be available at reduced prices, each purchase also earning you a gift!

The event has been made possible by Turizem Ljubljana. Admission to all events is free.

Participants will lend us a hand to make an optical toy – a flipbook: a booklet containing a series of images that are bound together to create the effect of movement when turned rapidly. Flipbooks will be created at the Ljubljana Castle Courtyard, and photographs will be taken on our way from the Castle Tower to Prešernov trg so that the entire Ljubljana will serve as the background.
