AnimaWeb: see the best greeting cards!

This year’s AnimaWeb competition just closed and on yesterday’s press conference we presented the best 3 animated greeting cards, along with all the details about the jubilee Animateka.

The chosen greeting cards were made by Lucija Mrzljak, Sofiya Ilieva and Ivana Bošnjak and Thomas Johnson. They will all be invited to Animateka as guests and their animated greetings will be shown at the festival before the projections.

We congratulate the winners and sincerely thank everyone that made us a greeting card! You made of us feel very special.

Besides the AnimaWeb winners, yesterday we also disclosed every last detail about the 2013 festival. To point out just a few important events: the openng will feature a stereoscopic 3D projection of some very special short films that combine animation and dance, Animateka’s 10 years of Animateka programme will tour across Slovenia’s Artkino cinemas and the creators of The Suicide Shop, Patrice Leconte and Jean Teule, will honor us with a personal visit!

Let’s finish this piece of news sith some numbers! This year Animateka will show 410 animated films, 6 of which are feature films, 72 of them will be presented in the Animation and dance retrospective, 51 are part of the Focus on Czech animation programme and 39 of them will present this year’s jury members!  You want some more? 37 films are part of the main competiton programme, 39 films will compete in the student competiton programme, while the Elephant competition programme consist of 33 films.
