The Elephant: Annecy and a new website!

The attention, given by the Association for reanimation of storytelling 2 reels to the youngest, has once again payed off. We are proudly sharing the news that 4 of the children, who took part in the animated film workshops held by the Educational animation film programme Elephant, have been invited this year to serve as Junior jury at the animated film festival in Annecy - a festival considered to be one of the main events in the world of animated film.

The children, travelling to France, are:

Neža Ciuha Šnajder (14)

Klara Kracina (15)

Vid Gojkovič (11)

Lovro Smrekar (12)

We congratulate all of them!

But there’s more good news about the Elephant programme: it just got a brand new website, Slon.animateka.si!

“The renewed web page presents a much clearer view on the many activities and programmes the Elephant is offering to children of all ages and teachers. You can see the schedule of our events, with all the information on how to be a part of them,” says the Elephant programme’s coordinator, Katja Koritnik.

This year the Elephant will be very busy: there will be animated workshops for kids (admission free), training for mentors and teacher as well as projections of animated films. A big part of the workshops is carried out with the collaboration of Kinodvor cinema and their children’s programme Kinobalon.

We will leave you with the words of Vid Gojkovič, a member of the Animateka 2013 Elephant jury and the Annecy 2014 Junior Jury, as well as a participant of the Elephant workshops of animated film:

“I adore animation. A few years ago, when I participated in my first workshop of animated film and created my very own Pingo, adoration got mixed with admiration. I started seeing art and animation in a completely different light. I can not even describe it with words.”
